Community Work Day - September
Hey everyone! We are going to start hosting community work days once a month! The goal is to bring everyone's different skills together to help better the rescue!
All skill levels are welcome. Feel free to come and learn from others.
We will meet at 10am for a potluck style brunch and get to work from there!
Can't wait to see everyone there and keep a look out for next months event!

Dog Days of Summer Adoption Paw-ty
Join Rusty's Legacy and Misfit Mountain Animal Rescue at Sam's Club in Asheville for a fun day with dogs and puppies!! There will be dogs of all ages and sizes ready and waiting for their forever homes. Foster and volunteer opportunities also available. Please stop by, say hi, pet a dog and maybe even give one a home!
Pride & Pups 2024
Join us for our second annual Pride and Pups event where we will celebrate the lived experiences of our LGBTQIA+ neighbors and our lovely furry misfit friends.
We will have lots going on:
-Rainbow cupcake Piggy Feeding
-Professional Pride Photos for donation
-The Most Pride Doggy Costume Contest
-Food Trucks Rainbow Cactus and Glazed and Infused Donuts serving up food!

Boho Hippie Festival 2024
Join us for the 3rd Annual Boho Hippie Festival located at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds! Each year they plan to bring more fun and entertainment for your whole family! Put them bell bottoms on, put a feather and flower in your hair and come out!
There will be live music both days, food trucks, performance artists, hula hoop dancers, live glass blowing, face painters, over 100 unique vendors, tie dye station and so much more for the family!
Portion of beer sales will be donated to Misfit Mountain.
Annual Rescue Run
Address is for Shining Creek Path Trailhead off 276...we will be ACROSS THE ROAD in the dirt parking area!
PARTICIPATION IS $25/JEEP
ON THE ROAD BY 1PM! This will be a pavement, dirt, and gravel ride! Plan is to take 276 towards Brevard and hit Yellow Gap (permitting that the trail is open) into Mills River. Our ride will END at Mills River Brewing where Misfit Mountain will be set up with some raffle items! MRB has a full bar and a food menu, along with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Leashed animals are welcome!

Cruso's Celebration
Cruso’s Celebration!
With Cruso’s final heartworm test coming up (to determine if he’s officially negative after treatment), we want to celebrate him & all he’s accomplished!
His appointment for his heartworm test is Friday February 23rd and we want to celebrate at the Rescue that evening at 5:30pm! Come one, come all….come help us celebrate Cruso!
Feel free to bring your own snacks, chairs, blankets, dog friendly treats, etc. and we’ll start a fire together!

Lonely Dogs Club Fundraiser
What’s better than a lonely dog or a lonely person? COMMUNITY AND LOVE!
Join the pups of Misfit Mountain as we take a day tour of local businesses, restaurants, and services right here in our communities!
The best part? All of these wonderful local places have promised to donate 5-10% of their profits on Feb 10th only to the rescue! Help us build community, support local, and give back to our furry friends!

Puppy Yoga at Evenstar
Puppy Noses, Yoga Poses, and Saturday Mimosas!
Come join us Saturday February 3rd at 1 for some adorable puppy love and a chill yoga flow.
If yoga isn't your thing, no problem! Just hang on your mat and pet some puppies 😉🤣
Cost is $15/person, half that goes to support @misfitmountainnc and half to support the studio space.

Evenstar Yoga Anniversary Party & Misfit Mountain Fundraiser
You're invited to Evenstar's anniversary gathering coming up Saturday January 6th at 2pm. Not only will we be having a potluck party, but a fundraiser for Misfit Mountain! Misfit Mountain is a nonprofit no-kill animal community located here in Haywood county. Small businesses in downtown Canton have generously donated over $500 worth of raffle prizes. Wow!
Here's how it works.
If you'd like to participate in the fundraiser it'll be $5/ticket, and we'll be drawing tickets around 4pm to pick prizes. If you can't make the party but would like to participate in the fundraiser, text me at 828-549-8616.
There is no pressure to donate, you are more than welcome to join the party regardless.
If you'd like to participate in the potluck and eat yummy food (what a spread it was at our Thanksgiving party! ) please bring a dish or drink to share.
All are welcome, kids, Yogi's, non Yogi's, adults, teens, invisible friends, EVERYONE! Let's make our first anniversary party one to remember with community and support for each other after this holiday season!

Rockin’ For Rescue 2023
We are thrilled that it is officially Rockin' for Rescue month! On August 26 from 1-6PM we will be honoring Roscoe, and celebrating as usual, with the best of the best animal friends, advocates, and lovers!
This year we will have a large variety of animal rescue groups, local pet businesses, rockin' bands, and our classic Rocoe’s Rockin Red Ale from Blue Ghost Brewing Company. Keep following for the most recent changes and participants. You better mark your calendars, because we cannot WAIT to see you there!
Blue Ghost will have 14 house-made beers on tap, Blue Ghost Hard Seltzer & Ginger Beer, Bold Rock Hard Cider, a red & white wines, and Souther Williams Rose as well as non-alcoholic options. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy both food and drink!
